Ayah Connect Privacy Policy

1. About This Policy

AyahConnect provides Quran-based daily messages, reminders, and optional AI Chat. This policy explains the information we process, why we process it, and how you can manage or delete it.

2. Information We Collect

Account information: When you sign in with Google, we receive your account identifier, email address, and basic profile information.

Preferences: We save settings such as language, reading preferences, time zone, and reminder choices.

Device and technical information: We process app or device identifiers and limited connection, usage, and security information to operate the app, manage devices, and prevent misuse. This may include IP addresses processed by network services.

Notifications: If you enable reminders, we process notification tokens, time zone, and reminder settings. Notification services may also process technical delivery information.

AI Chat: If you choose to use AI Chat, we save your messages and AI responses. Your question, relevant conversation context, and related reading or Quran references are sent to OpenAI to generate a reply. Avoid including personal or sensitive details you do not need to share.

Reports and support: When you report an issue or contact us, we process your message, relevant account details, and any content included with your report.

Optional diagnostics: If you enable Android diagnostics, we collect limited app error and performance information. Essential service and security records may still be processed when diagnostics are off.

You can use AyahConnect's daily messages without using AI Chat.

3. How We Use and Share Information

We use this information to provide app features, manage accounts, deliver reminders, respond to support requests, maintain security, and improve reliability.

We use Google for sign-in and OpenAI to process optional AI Chat requests. Cloud hosting, notification, and email service providers also process information as needed to operate AyahConnect. These services may process information outside your country. OpenAI and other providers may retain certain information under their applicable safety, security, and legal policies.

Authorized AyahConnect operators may access relevant information when necessary for support, security, or administration. AI Chat is not end-to-end encrypted against AyahConnect's operators or its AI provider.

We do not sell your personal information or use it for third-party targeted advertising. We may disclose information when required by law.

4. Security and Retention

We use encrypted connections and access controls to protect information. No system can guarantee absolute security.

Account information, preferences, and saved chats are generally kept until you delete the relevant chat or account. Reports and replies are generally kept until account deletion; reports associated with deleted AI chats are also removed. Routine technical and security records are generally retained for 7–90 days, depending on their purpose. Some aggregated information that does not identify your account may remain.

Account deletion removes associated data from active systems. Backup copies normally expire within approximately 37 days, so deletion from all copies may not be immediate. Limited records may be retained to prevent deleted accounts from being restored or where required for security or legal reasons. Information processed by external providers may be subject to their own retention requirements.

5. Your Choices and Account Deletion

You can update app preferences, disable reminders or optional diagnostics, avoid AI Chat, and delete saved chats.

You can request account deletion in Settings → Delete account, or use our account deletion request page (https://ayahconnect.indiasouthcentral.cloudapp.azure.com/api/auth/account-deletion) without opening the app. Requests made through the website require account ownership verification. We review those requests within 7 days and complete verified requests within 30 days after verification, subject to the retention exceptions described above.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy if our practices change. The effective date above will reflect the latest version, and we will provide additional notice or request consent when required.
